Kihkentan Wahkahikan – Learning House

Kihkēntan Wāhkāhikan is a multi-sector program that will create a space for intergenerational learning and the delivery of therapeutic learning alternatives for residential school survivors and their descendants. The objective of this pilot program is to test an innovative approach that will address various socio-economic barriers to employment for Indigenous communities in a manner that is culturally appropriate. As an adult learning centre, Kihkēntan Wāhkāhikan will seek to provide the kind of supportive, welcoming and safe learning environment that adult participants did not experience during primary and secondary education.
